Samonia Sanders, Parent Instructional Coordinator
About Me
I’m Samonia Sanders, and I’m thrilled to serve as the Parent Instructional Coordinator at Nesbit Elementary School this year. This is my third year in the Nesbit Family. Prior to teaching Pre-K last year, I served as an Instructional Specialist for the GCPS Pre-K Program, supporting Nesbit Elementary.
I’ve been an educator for over 16 years, and during that time, I’ve had the opportunity to teach students at every level—from curious little ones in Pre-K to bright minds in third grade and even college students. Each experience has shaped me into the educator I am today and deepened my passion for learning and connection.
I earned my Master’s degree in Education from Mercer University, and I believe strongly in the power of relationships between schools, families, and the community. My goal is to build meaningful relationships with parents and guardians so we can work together to support our students and help them thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally.
Outside of school, I enjoy reading, cooking, traveling, and exploring new things to learn. Whether it’s diving into a great book, discovering a new recipe, or visiting somewhere I’ve never been, I’m always looking for ways to grow and bring fresh perspectives into my work.
It’s an honor to be part of the Nesbit community, and I look forward to making this school year an incredible one!
