Mission and Vision

It is our mission to support the learning community of Nesbit Elementary School by helping students and staff become active and effective users of information while promoting a lifelong love of reading and learning.

We envision a media program that provides and organizes resources to support the learning community and curriculum; teaches students to locate, evaluate and use information efficiently and effectively; promotes a love of reading and an appreciation of literature; provides a safe nurturing environment in which students and faculty feel welcome; and encourages creative learning.

Calendar/Hours

The Media Center is open from 8:20 am-2:20 pm for student check in/out. Students may visit the media center with a pass from their teacher or teachers can sign up to bring the whole class.

The collaborative learning areas are open for the school to use at any time when it is available.
We just ask that you please put back any furniture that you moved, and clean up after yourself.

Policies & Procedures

Book Care

Take good care of library materials so other students will be able to enjoy them after you.

-Keep your book in your book bag when you are not reading it. You will always know where it is and you will have it at school when you're ready to get a new book to read.

-Do not eat or drink while reading a library book. Liquids and sticky foods will ruin a book.

-Do not write or draw in a library book.

-If you have a water bottle in your book bag, we recommend keeping it in a plastic bag to keep the other materials in your book bag dry.

-Be careful not to tear or rip the pages in the book.
